
Meet Matt Martin
Hard work, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a drive for success is exactly what sets Matt apart. For over 15 years Matt has partnered with dentists to help build and grow their dream dental practices. His experience ranges from site selection to marketing to maximizing EBITDA through operational efficiency.
At the ripe age of 22, Matt entered into negotiations and purchased his first Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream franchise. Over the next decade the operation grew to over 50 locations and 7-figures in annual revenue. Buying, selling and lease negotiations were all part of the growth and eventual sale of the ice cream empire.
After getting his fill of ice cream, and ready for his next challenge, Matt chatted with a good friend that happened to be a dentist. “You’re great at sales. You should take a look at my supplier, Patterson Dental”.
With a strong small business background and a knack for sales, Patterson was a great fit. After working with hundreds of dental practices across the Greater Chicagoland Area, Matt realized the impact he could have on dentists and their families. The formula was simple; always answer the phone, solve problems that others run away from and bring valuable ideas with the support to implement difference making strategies.
After learning practice transitions, valuations and recruitment from the Best in the Midwest (Andy, Jess and Drew at Edge Advisors), Matt decided to branch out on his own and started Lakefront Advisors to focus his efforts on Illinois and Indiana.
When away from the office, Matt spends time with his wife Lindsey and their two kids; Keegan (12) and Landen (9). Basketball, soccer, golf, and acting classes keep the family busy year-round. After kid activities are done for the day, you’ll find Matt in the kitchen making homemade pizza (Detroit-style is #1 for those in the know), flipping burgers on the grill or on the golf course.
